Newbie needing Senior help

Hey guys,I have read the faq's and found alot of great info,if you would be so kind I need some solid direction on a few mods on my 2005 Cobalt SS.

Lowering springs?Aggressive drop but not riced out.

Which torque strap or motor/trans mount will cure the thud on the 1-2 shift?

WHP capability of pump and MAF sensor?

Anyone running a dry N2O kit before the MAF?

How much WHP to expect with a 3" pulley?

Are the internals forged?

Your help is greatly appreciated and any COBALTSS.net members needing dyno time in the hillsborough,Pasco,Sarasota,Pinellas county area I'll do $75.00 an hour or 3 base line pulls for $50.00.

Thanks again

Welcome to the site. Don't have all the answers for ya but i'll try a couple.

H&R? Sportlines look awesome, there's some pics on here somewhere.

With just a pulley and no tuning you prolly won't get a whole lot out of it. maybe 5-10 HP at the wheels.

No all the internals are NOT forged. Only the crankshaft and connecting rods are. The pistons are cast if I am not mistakem.

Don't know if anybody is interested but I just baselined my Cobalt,it did 220 whp and 190 ft.lbs. of torque.Pulled the filter aimed at the MAF with a nitrous line running through a 34 pill and it went 268 whp and 266 torque. No detonation,12 to 1 air/fuel across the board.

Good times

I thought that was a little exaggerated but didn't know for sure.I'm installing a dry kit with a 34 jet before the MAf today and I will let you guys know the result after it has been tested a little more than one dyno pass. Also I was recommended the H&R springs and I loved them in my IS300 butbthey are 2 weeks away and the eibach's are in stock at the wholesale outlet nearby.Has anyone had good results w/ the eibach's or should I just wait?

The Eibach sportlines seem to be the best springs out right now for appearance. Supposedly levels the car out nicely and drops it just enough.

If you got a 220 baseline you should get about 235-240 with the airbox mod, plugs, and a 3" pulley.
