Night Shade Question

Following online videos to tint my lights, i started by doing the 2 small ones on the side of the car just to get the feel and see how it looks.

what i did was use 1000 grit sand paper and sanded them, cleaned them and sprayed the tint.
3 thin coats.

For somereash it dried with orange peal and isn't super smooth like I've seen.

a buddy of mine has done a lot of them and they all look perfect he says he never sanded before(first i heard this) and don't use clear coat.

anyone else that has done this have any tips or anything?

tried thin coats cracked real bad on the 2 small lights and the 2 big ones it left like "fish eye" all over or so my dad called it. Im about over it now tho haha

Im trying to clean the lights and they won't clean and the paint thinner ilke made the plastic soft so it won't even stand anymore. I can take my fingernail and scrap it off.

I've never used sand paper. All I did was use a cleaner that is almost like a paint prep and jus did light coats and used a hair dryer to dry it quicker. Good luck man

2 big ones i didn't do anything to and they look good the smaller ones messed up so i had to sand them, then i clear coated them and it turned them white!
