Oil change question

Ok so i use to drive my cobalt alot so i changed my oil(mobil 1) every 10k miles, but since a moved lil over a year ago I live 1 mile from work so i think I drove less the. 4k miles last year and so for people that drive very short distance but drive every day how often should they change oil? Im thinking something like either every 4 to 6 months?

Even oil sitting over time will break down, so if you dont the mileage before 6 months, change it at 6 months. The weather changes and fluctuation in temperature will have worked its magic enough during that time period to make the oil less effective.

I'd say 3000 miles is the BEST distance to change your oil.
Some people say you're wasting your money and synthetic oil lasts longer so 5000 miles is better.

I am currently about 2300 miles since my oil change, I resetted my oil life on the car when I did it and it's still at 61%. I'll probaly do my oil change when the oil life reaches 5-10% and that will probably be when I hit anywhere between 3000-5000 miles.

Best way to find out, get a used oil analysis costs around 30 for the analysis and will take a few samples to determine your best change interval.

canadian vs. american. 5000 miles is a bit long to let it go imo. 5000km's is close to 3000 miles, so thats roughly a good goal.

I work half a mile from my home. I change mine every 6 months or 7k miles.

You people who change your oil at 3k are wasting so much money its not even funny.
