Snap On now has a low profile 1-1/4in socket for the oil filters on echo tech engines. I have ordered one and I will let everyone know how it works when I get it. It should make oil changing a little bit easier. Cost is $27.00.

 

So the oil filter cap is 1 1/4"? I need to change my oil this weekend... I'm suprised GM still using a standard size and not metric.... Sure its not a 27mm ?

 

yes i am sure it is not a 27mm i used a 32mm on my last oil chang and a 1-1/4in on my first oil chang thay both will work i just think the new low profile socket will work better

 

its 1 1/4" did mine last weekend.

All the guys there would go on the roof inbetween customers and get stoned.... I can't even count how many times they mess'd up peoples cars

Yeah I took mine to dealership and it was only $54.00 , I had read on here some people paying $75-80 so I was gonna do it myself, but I figured 6 quarts and oil filter about $40 so another $14 and they do all the work and dispose of old oil !!

aparently our cars take 7 quarts of oil at least thats what the dealership said ... they were so freaked out when I did my 3k checkup that they gave me a discount for the oil since it took so much

 

I spent 36 for oil and 10 for the filter took me 20 mins.

 

yeah next change im doin it myself it cost me 60 bucks at the dealer which is to be expected since they checked and topped of the other fluids too

 

Uhhh it costs me $15 at my dealer to do it, including a filter. I purchase my own oil elsewhere because dealers get it, ESPECIALLY 'high performance' oils and mark them up at least $3 a quart.

 

OMG another UTI guy... but anyway..

Mine took like 6.25 quarts... that SC just slurps it up I guess... I suppose thats why we can go 7500 miles...
