While talking to the salesperson that Friday, we did go over their stock. Their blue one had not made it to GMBuypower at that time. I only odered two options, side curtains and the performance package (yeah, the infamous G85) and he did say they did a search for that combo. There are not a lot of G85 equipped Cobalts out there now and there were fewer a week ago. A lot has been said about the LSD; I have not driven a Cobalt with or without but I do drive a Cavalier with a RSM Supercharger and I have gone thru enough tires in two years (replaced under the Discount Tires warranty) to SUSPECT the extra power makes a difference. Also, I ordered only because of the LSD, and they know that cause I told them when I went in. I could have gone down the street but based on the foregoing you tell me what you think I would have found. -- laborsmith

 

I have a Cobalt SS sitting at the Chevy store with my name on it, but no G85. How long will I be waiting if I order an 06 with the LSD?

As long as GM preferenced your order it should be made. Find out if that has happened.

 

I was told by a couple of dealers who phoned GM Canada that the 06's will start being delivered in August - not sure about the G85 though.

Does that mean that no more orders on the G85 will be taken and that they'll finish building what has already been ordered, or does it mean that they're just done building G85's for the rest of the model year, even if you ordered your car a month ago?

 

They are done taking orders for G85, If your order made it to at least 2000 stage then you should be ok. No word yet on what they are going to do with the G85 in 06. If you have an 05 G85 on order and it does not get built then you have to reorder an 06, they DO NOT automatically roll the order over.

 

Too much non sense to buy a frigging car! Gm wonders why they don't sell enough.
