Exclamation P0171 with freeze frame data pics help please :)

I think I first got this code last fall, it was right before i stored my cobalt for winter.
Now that I pulled it out of storage it has come back on after 2 days of driving.

something looks weird with my fuel trims and im wondering if maybe this is just a sensor?

I know intakes sometimes affect fueling so I have a Takeda attack intake.

Cold Air Intake System Takeda aFe Power Takeda Stage-2 PRO DRY S Intake Systems; Chevrolet Cobalt SS 05-07 L4-2.0L (sc) (pol) TA-5102P - aFe Power

as you can see it uses a factory MAF sensor location so I dont think the intake is the problem.

just because the maf is in the same spot does not mean the intake isn't the cause. I would almost be on it is. Especially looking at your fuel trims. Put the stock intake back on and see if it goes away. If it does, get a tune for that intake.

Hard to say, there is no way to tell from that data. Since the trims only seem to be off about 10%, i'd be more inclined to believe that the maf section of that intake is slightly larger.

Wether the maf location is the same or not, the stock system is in fact closed and a smaller diameter . meaning it has creased bends and ect. So with opening the intake, you open the value of air which is higher. So therefore it does need tuned.... Any type of air modification can open the system to get leaner or richer fuel trims...

...because you are looking at the wrong things. each "bank" is a side of the engine. seeing that we have an inline 4 cylinder we only have one "bank". now if you had a v6 or v8 you would have 2 banks. so the only numbers you are concerned about in the pics is short term and long term bank one.

the difference between long and short is just that. short term is what it is doing now. long term is what the computer has been doing to adjust fuel over a long term. basically it is an average of the short term. in your pics you only show long term for bank one. but thats ok because it is the only one that really matters.

here is an experience i have had. i put on an ebay cheap cold air intake and my trims were -20 ish. which means the computer was taking away about 20% of fuel away. i got a stock box and did the air box mod. now i am + about 3 or 4. so the computer is adding fuel, but i am fine with that since the numbers are a lot closer to zero and i would rather have fuel added then taken away.

i know this was a little long but i wanted to explain to you what you are looking at and what they talking about.
