To put a light side on the situation, it now looks like a bull dog lol but all jokes aside glad you all right and doesn't look too bad. My accident ended up costing nearly 14,000...

if it is anywhere close to being totalled im going to bitch and bitch some more until they hopefully total it. I have a 2006 and after its fixed i still want it to be worth something when i trade it in.... i could understand if it was a mid 90s car... ive got gap insurance too, so if they decide to total it the gap would cover what the insurance didnt... so that should be motive for them to total it.

Man I would absolutely push for it to be totalled, it looks like the back half of the ******* car would have to be cut off, that is some seriously concerning crimping...

Sorry to hear bout the SS . I dont think youll have to worry about it being totalled . Your car looks like it would definately need a short rear clip . Most insurance companies wont mess with that on a car that new regarless of the cost .

Man how fast was the person going that hit you ? Thats ALOT of damage for a typical rear end accident .

I do not understand why everyone thinks they can tell their insurance ot total a car. You can't. I manage a collision center and quite honestly, as long as that car is repaired by a quality shop, that's a pretty basic rear end hit. Sure it took a good shot, but it is no where near totalling. A car will only total if A. the cost of the repairs exceeds %70 of the car's retail value or B. It is considered a structural loss. Basically meaning that it is physically impossible to repair the car. From what I can see in the photos, your car does not fit either one.

go to www.nadaguides.com if you want to see what the insurance company is going to base their value off of. Answer all the questions and go tih the average retail value.

The car does not have a frame. It is a unibody. When they replace the trunk floor pan, those rails will come with it. It really is not that big of a deal. It looks a lot worse than it is. It will probably take a few weeks to fix, but it can be fixed.

what im mostly worried about is the value of the car after its fixed. Its a 2006 so when i go to trade it in it should still have a good trade in value... Im afraid that this accident will severely change how much the car will be worth on trade in. I wasnt at fault so I dont see why I should have to suffer with that.
