parts to help mpg?
What parts would help mpg? I would think a better spark plug but i don't know which one? I would say a performance intake? Don't know about a tornado but does those work?? Maybe headers to make it breathe better.
Anybody else know?

Supposedly you can tune for mpg too, it would be a little bit going against what conventionally means to tune your car, but I suppose it might become necessary to tune for economy in the future.

Like everyone said, (intake, header, exhaust, plugs) also getting better grounding wires (I think that's what they are) can also help by getting a better spark from the plugs. If you have forced induction, turn down the boost and getting a tune for economy (it is possible). The "Tornado" doesn't work, if anything it hurts it by blocking air flow.

Naive yuppies, ricers, and pep boys connoiseurs. Usually in the automotive world if its too good to be true, It isnt.
I have an intake header and exhaust and I noticed that when i'm not stomping on the gas all the time my fuel economy is awesome. 36-38 on the highway.
HOWEVER
Injen intake $250
Corsa Catback $630
Vibrant Header $660 (retail 750-800)
$1,540. The few extra mpg I got by installing these items are in no way saving me any money. The better fuel economy is more of an extra perk to these products.

to tell the truth, keeping the car well maintained is the best thing you can do.
regular oil and plug changes, same with filters and tire inflation help a lot.
also, long wear tires will give you a few, in trade for grip.

Here's one that will help ALOT!!
your foot....keep it off the gas!
Also, when you re-engage your cruise control, it will go WOT until it nears the designated speed. I like to get my car upto speed before re-engaging Cruise.

This is the best thing you can do. Take it easy... and keep an eye on that boost gauge... fuel mileage drops like a stone as boost goes up. If you can stay out of boost you'll get great mileage.
The only "mod" I can think of actually getting you enough MPG gains to justify it would be the airbox mod b/c it costs less than $50... everything else may gain you some mileage... but you'll never save enough to overcome what you spent to buy the parts.
Also... if you know anyone with HP tuners... you can "de-tune" the SS/SC to run on 87 octane fuel... it'll save you some money if things get really really bad. I've already discussed this posibility with a few of my friends here in town should be ever have another "gas crisis" where prices skyrocket to like $5/gal or more.
