Possibly selling

So 6 months ago we had a baby boy and now need a bigger vehicle. I was wondering how easy is it to sell your own vehicle privately? I know the dealer will not give me the best price I am sure, any ideas on should I trade it in or attempt to sale it privately?

Also look into listing on autotrader.com

You can list it for free on Ebay but be sure to leave a reserve and note that the car is available for sale locally and you may end the listing early.

ebay, craigslist, autotrader, on here. theres a lot of places to sell it.

as far as paper work goes, if there is a lien on the title. it will all most likely have to be done face to face with you, the buyer, and your bank. as they won't release the title till his check, cash, whatever payment method clears. and then it will instantly be signed by you and the new buyer over to them.

if you have a clear title in your possession, make sure they pay you with a bank wire, certified check, cashiers check, or cold hard cash(least preferred though). DO NOT take a personal check or any form of credit card payment like transferring money from their card to a bank/paypal account and paying you that way. the check could bounce, the credit card transfer could be disputed, or anything they can do to get their money back while keeping their new car with a clean title signed over to them.

Just make sure you do a bill of sale and get everything notarized at the bank.
