I was fighting with the turbo kit for a while, and then the tuner fudged my idle tune and it crapped out on me.. I figured the turbo setup was too much of a pain to maintain, and I originally wanted to do this from the get go so I decided to change directions.. Plus selling the turbo and everything from the balt paid for the goat so that worked out well!

Well the motor mounts and tranny mounts are temporarily in. Need to make the hanger bearing mount yet though. the car can now be suspended in the air with the motor and tranny installed.. Im calling this the halfway point!

The rad support is going to have to be modified. The GTO guys use an intake system called the SVEDE that I may consider.. It kinda goes up and over the rad support, but i think the hood will be in the way

So i've got my final to-do list created , and one more major thing i need to figure out is what to do about the widened body. Ayone have any ideas here? Theres always the universal fender flare direction. I wish the gravana tuning kit still existed!!!! I also like that flat black mbro widebody balt, but the flares are a tad bit bubby i think, what does everyone think?

Swapping knuckle assemblies from left to right, and using the gto steering rack in front of the control arms. Need to extend the steering connection though.

How much additional width are you needing in the the fenders. You can add as much as an inch maybe and inch and a half per side by doing some cuts radially from the fender lip outward. Then you can stretch the fender lip outward. Weld in some rod stock that is bent in the shape of the "new" lip on the inside of the lip to stabilize it. Then weld in some pie cuts in the gaps. Smooth out the welds and let your body guy finish it off. There was a good "how to" on Trucks a couple months back. They widened out their front fenders on a Ranger this way. Looked pretty solid and kept the basic shape of the fender better than a gaudy-ass wide body kit. Go to Spike TV online and look at project Rolling Thunder. It's a Mustang suspension and drive train (including IRS) in a Ranger. The project is cool as hell and there may be some other stuff that will help you along in your build. Nice work so far. Hope you can reclaim some rigidity in the unibody with some subframe connections and a cage. Should be bad ass. Good luck!!!

Hey thanks for that Tip, thats a great way to get the wheel base wider. I may in fact use that Idea if it gets me enough clearance.. Looks like they only got about 3/4" from it. I really need a couple of inches to make it work, but I will cycle the suspension and see exactly how much I need.

slice the body down the middle and section it. Nobody will ever see it.

Actually, i like the idea above. If done right it will be pretty subtle.
