Thumbs up Put an Outerwears pre-filter on.

So I got tired of my car sputtering and cutting out in heavy rain thanks to my AEM CAI. So to rememdy it I bought an Outerwears pre-filter. Anywho, same concept as the Injen Hyrdoshield for those familiar with that product. Outerwears actually designed the product years ago long before Injen and K&N started making similar products...but the patent since expired, and Injen/K&N now have similar offerings.

Anywho, it works great (drove in heavy rain yesterday and today with no sputtering at all) and I highly reccomend it. Unlike Injen, where if you have an AEM, K&N, Fujita, etc etc intake, you have to look up your filter code and ****, Outerwears already has done the research for you and has pre-filters for all major name intakes listed on their website.

Heres a pic for reference:

Well that must be nice, lol.

53k on my car is proof that I drive regardless of the weather.

Not if you've got a short ram. With a CAI, its just a matter of taking out the headlight and headlight mounting bracket thingy, then popping it on like a condom, then replacing the headlight assembly bracket and light. It's a 10mm bolt. And besides, it's a lot less effort than fixing an engine that sucked up a big gulp of water.

I don't have to take my headlight off......just unscrew the metal tabs under your front bumper and its right there. Took all of 5 minutes to get the filter out, put the Outerwears on and put the filter back on.

No. Read up on them at Outerwears.com. In fact, over long term testing it actually IMPROVED performance since it offers an even higher level of filtration.

x2. I can't believe I went two years with my AEM CAI on my car without one of these on. All that shitty rain driving could've been solved with $30, lol.
