I agree. listen to the experience they have! i got out of a ford focus into an SS Sc 2 years ago.. had no idea what i was buying except that it was faster than my focus! lmao! and i loved it.. ive ran into probs but here on this site, you should be able to find almost any answer you need if its not anything dealing with a flux capacitor.. lmao.. but ya.. good luck with the find.. Car max will ship cars for you if you find one at a dealer.. great car not too hard to mod/tune, and id say have fun!

I do like the turbo version, but I honestly really want the SC. I love the whine, and I do plan on putting on some mods. Financial reasons also factor
into that. The one I found at a dealer an hour from where I live already has a stage 2 kit installed on it which is what I was planning on doing to mine, but I keep being told and it seems a lot of people here agree that getting a stock one is my best bet. I keep getting all pumped thinking about getting one than frustrated trying to find one around my area. Guess I may have to take a drive, but to me it would be worth it. I've wanted this car for a while now. The fact I can use it to have fun, and rely on it to get me to work and school every day also is so reassuring, I really appreciate everyone's input. I won't stop until I get my SS!

I give up trying to send knowledge to those types of members.

If you need any help in terms of modifications, and what to look for on the supercharged models feel free to PM me.

Also, scan the site under the problems/maintenance section. You will learn a lot about the common issues the SS/SC has.

In all honesty, my car has never had any problems, and runs just as good as the day I drove it off the dealership lot (it just has a lot more power now ).

I would just buy it with stage 2 out of the box.
Fix what problems it has and drive it.

LOL. is this going to happen in every thread now? all the "all around better car" that an lnf has over an lsj is the stupid suspension, brakes that can easily be swapped along with the rest of the little bullshit. quit making stupid statements like this. If you want to make power on both its gona take money regarldless..

Why a supercharger rather than a turbocharger? Turbochargers are inherently more difficult to control due to the tremendously high temperatures they generate and the way they produce a dramatic rise in air pressure, resulting in instantaneous large horsepower increases. Although this may sound ideal it usually results in uncontrollable wheel spin and loss of handling to the point of making driving dangerous, forcing the driver to back off and losing the benefits of all this power, always assuming he's still on the road. All these problems of a turbocharger can be tamed to a certain extent but it involves much extra technology and cost. Apart from this drivability problem the other downside is that this sudden rise in pressure, means very careful engine management adjustments to set the fueling and ignition correctly to avoid engine blow ups. Several Saxo turbo's that we have heard of produced reasonable power but destroyed themselves and the installer then rebuilt them with lower boost to preserve the engine. This did cure the reliability but then power was way down. Another example of this was a turbo conversion on a Ford Fiesta done by a well know company, the result was only 30% increase in power, in my opinion not worth the bother or expense. Another downside of turbo's due to the very rapid increase in power, is the effect on the transmission components, all turbo's wear out clutches and gearboxes more quickly. These components like gradual torque increases not sudden violent increases.

Thanks for turning it into a dictatorship Metallic. Not much I can do vs a mod because you'll delete/edit posts again. But I can choose to not re-subscribe.

Right now I own a 2006 Mazda 3 GT. the car has been great to me, very reliable and the handling is great. However, now I want something that'll fit me more. I want something faster and the SS/SC would be just that. I would just appreciate some info from people here who have them already. Would it be worth me buying? Are they reliable? The problem tho I've had is finding one for sale around me. I live in Bucks County, PA just outside of Philly. I've found a few online but a lot of them are out dated and were already sold. Are they honestly that hard to find now? I know they were only made from 05-07 but I didn't expect it to be this hard. I want to choose the right one but I'm getting impatient because I've wanted one for a while now, and now I can actually buy one. I was looking at an 07 with 70k miles on it listed over $12k but I was told that was over priced because these cars are beat on. I really just want one I can enjoy for as long as I can. Any advice for me getting one of these bad boys? Any would be much appreciated! Especially on how I can find a good source to find a decent cobalt if possible!
do eeeet! I love my ss/sc. fun, fast, good looking. nice.

honestly the only reason to stay form buying an already modded car is knowing 9/10 chance it was beat on a lot. but hell i beat on mine stock so whats it matter? i made a whole thread asking how reliable ss/scs were when modded (by which i mostly meant stage 2) or just beating on them and really almost noone posted that they had any big issues.

So first you edit my post and then 3 hours later second guess yourself and go back to delete it from existance? Lol. Oh and you forgot to edit the people who quoted original post so it really doesn't exist.

This is just a friendly heads up to anyone....

If a member is looking for a specific car, there is no need to post go buy this other model.

If they ask for suggestions on other models, then feel free to add, but in this situation the OP is looking for a SS/SC.

There is no need to bash the SS/SC, or say it is an inferior car either.

Everyone has different tastes, and if we didnt, the car scene would be pretty boring.

Buses? You know how long a bus is? Much less multiple buses. You must be talking about short buses...
