recall question

recall question

so i got my recall letter in the other day. the problem is i installed an intake, header, dp, n exhaust on my car n i got a CEL. do u guys think i have an issue taking my car in once they see the CEL. i have onstar so i know its coming from the emmission system cuz the email i got said so.
also anyone know a good way of fixing the CEL problem

Maybe...Maybe not depends on the dealer if they will check in deeper into the check engine light, if they do they may just tell you about it and as long as you don't ask them to do anything they probibaly wont.

What is the code, it may have been your gas cap not closed all the way. Go to an autozone or similar and have them read it.

I don't see why they'd give you crap. It's not like it's an issue of a warranty repair where there's some debate as to who is going to pay for the repair. GM already said we're paying for it, so mods shouldn't be an issue in this case.

Depends 100% on the dealer, but in this case since it's a safety concern they can 100% NOT (legally) deny this repair.

i had someone try n read the code but some reason his code reader thing wasnt working with my car. the email i got from onstar says that theres something wrong emissions system.

If you're catless of have a hi flow cat, it's probably your second O2 sensor. Need to get an angled adapter. Look on ebay for $25 shipped! Ships out in a couple days!

i had that code for a year on my car kept saying it was the gas cap...took it to the dealer and all...i went poking around one day re tightened all the clamps on my intake and one was loose near the throttle body just a tad and thats what caused it for me

can u be more descriptive? and is there another site other than ebay. i never liked buying things from there

n im not catless. i got the vibrant dp n im pretty sure it has a high-flow cat

I had a bunch of mods on my car when I baught it..

Well im trying to put off doing a tune cuz dont want to void my warranty. i've only had the car for 4 months...
