Removing the throttle pedal pad?

Anyone know if this is even possible? I want to get some new pedal covers but the throttle pedal cover on the cobalt is extremely long.. it would look stupid with a cover over it and the rest of the pedal sticking up.

If you get the GM ones, the whole unit is replaced, there are 3 bolts that hold the throttle sensor in, as our cars have an electronic throttle control system. from what i saw, when i switched mine with the gm ones, there are 2 pin like things holding the pedal on, (the black plastic part), they looked like you could most likely pop them off, however i would fab up a metal piece to screw the new pedal cover on to, say if you went with like a sparco or momo set up or something, make a bracket with sheet metal, something decent thickness, so it kind of looks like this

drill two holes in it, and slide it into the spot, after proper fitment, weld that piece to a piece of sheetmetal the same size and shape of your new pedal, and then scre the pedal to that piece, and replace the pins........ id give you pictures of how to do it, but i dont have any, if you need help with the metal work let me know, i will fab something up for you when i go home this weekend, and mail it out, let me know if this helps, Tommy

Ok I can feel the 2 pins you are talking about. I guess those will come out with a little prying. I see what you mean about fabbing a metal piece.. it seems like just that little stick would be hanging there. How much would ya charge me to make that metal piece?
