rubberband mod
i was taking my headlights off my car earlier for a little project and as i was removing the passenger side light i saw this...
looks and feels just like a rubberband thats just dangling there. can anyone tell if it's really supposed to be there and what it may go to, i didn't notice it the first few times i messed with my lights

i honestly don't know what it could be, i don't know a whole lot about cars and my cobalt is the first car i've actually taken things apart on. i don't recall ever seeing this piece in there anywhere. i went out and took another picture to give a better idea as to where its located, sorry don't mind the dirty car...

if it's just hanging there you might as well take it off, as far as the looks- it's the same color as the O-ring that goes on the plastic piece that seals the back of the headlight, take the gray piece off ur headlight (the gray piece that twists) and check the inner lip of it and see if the O-ring is still there-

I work for a dealership and I know where the rubber bands come from. When they build the car from the factory they tie all the wiring together before they drop the engine in the car so nothing gets in the way. Its normal and I see it on most every new car.

well you guys do know that the increased tension on the rubberband causes your hp to double.. so in my case... when my rubberband is at its fullest extension its 132 x1 = 132 but when its at its at its fullest compression its 132x 2= 264 + 75 = 339 WOOT
