Sc vs. tc continued....,

What's a forum without debates? So quit being gay and locking threads

My opinion is its all about personal preference in what you want. One isn't really better then the other.

debates are fine it's just that they always end up devolving into insults and a pissing match.

And people not getting over the fact that turbos are just plain better.

It depends on what your power wants are. If we are talking about a 1/4 or heck especially the 1/8. Having a single 102mm turbo would pull some amazing dyno numbers but a 3.0L S/C on the same car would probably finish faster in those races. (Assuming you're not gaming the mechanics of the the 2 NOS/raw fuel to spool faster)

The pissing matches is what makes the threads even better lol. And even you would agree some people deserve to be humiliated some for their stupidly. But this is always a good topic because there are so many advantages and disadvantages to each

I'll leave this one open to see how well everyone can behave....

These threads turn out the same everytime, and have the same arguments everytime.

I don't see the need for it, but have fun.

Startingline.... you're incharge of keeping everyone on topic. Good luck man

What was wrong with the last thread....

I will continue it where is left off.

Orly?

ZR1, ZL1, CTS-V, GT500, Jag's, Audi's (all use Superchargers).

Better tell them they don't know what they are doing

I'm tired of seeing these type of threads.... They always turn into pissing matchs (just like I predicted in post #2).

All of you can think what you want about which form of forced induction is best, but in the end, each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Maybe these type of threads would be more informative, and not get locked, if we didn't get so many opinionated posts from members that just favor one form of F.I. over another.

Until members can come into a thread like this with an open mind, & w/o starting wars, these type of threads will continue to get closed.
Twin turbo ZR1 makes 900whp on the stock LS9 motor... Same boost. +1 for turbos, You're up supercharger. lol.

My response about the ZR1, ZL1 & so on was not about making power.

I was correcting a member for saying all new cars come with turbos now, because "turbos are better".

I was listing the high horsepower/performance cars that still use superchargers over turbos.

A neat tid bit of info though is Eaton is currently experimenting with magnesium rotors for their next gen TVS blowers. They are still in the prototype phase, but it is supposed to help with rotating mass over the current aluminum rotors.

Performance advantages and/or disadvantages aside, I just can't stand the wining sound of a supercharger. To me it sounds sissy-like.

U didnt miss much man....

People started nut huggin as usual.

Hopefully, we can avoid that this time around.

If people can add actual facts & info, then this thread might be of some use.

Most likely you will get members saying turbo's FTW or superchargers FTW, ha.

This....not a huge fan of the sound of blowers, especially on a small displacement engine. Sounds like some small animal crying in pain lol.

This all depends on type of blower, type of turbo, cfm rates, single vs must turbo/ super, desired hp, and many more factors to say one is hands down superior is just ignorant, and childish. Cause I have beaten many turbo guys with same or more HP then me, and also lost to turbo guys with less HP.

Too many variables to consider to say which is better in general. It depends on the application before you would start crunching numbers which would be better.

a kenny bell supercharger sounds amazing... that being said i've seen many a rusted out cavaliers going by that sounded just like an LSJ blower and it was obviously a worn belt or something wrong with the engine lol.

turbo is more effficient because it doesn't take much power to make horsepower... supercharger robs engine of power to make power... but supercharger has no lag and turbo does..
