I'm not sure I agree with your quickest comment. I am fairly certain the Veyron, 911, new McLaren, SSC Aero and Saleen S7 (now turbo bc SC couldn't make the power) are all turbo cars. Even Zonda's new Huayra (sp?) is turbo. Or are you talking about top fuel cars?

What is also interesting is that still to this day, one of the fastest cars in history is N/A (McLaren F1) I guess we should all shut up.

This is a really dumb thread.

T/C cars make more power and are faster at the end of the day, end of story. There is a reason people on the streets know ss/sc cobalts are slow and that ss/tc cobalts are pretty nasty. Sure a handful of fast s/c cars like zrated exist but even then his trap is barely above or at a stock TC trap.

Cmiller ran faster than you on the stock turbo so it has nothing to do with your SC.

Last time i checked you can't get 370whp 400+tq out of a stock blower cobalt.

The TC cobalt IS better than the SC and you must be smoking crack if you think it isn't It has better suspension, more power, faster 1/4 mile time, faster road course time, more durable parts, ect.. I don't even know how this is a argument?
This.

While I owned both, I am so glad that my SC car is gone.

it takes alot more money, time, and effort but i respect a fast sc cobalt because of that...i get more attention respect for keeping mine sc and taking the time to make it what it is instead of taking the easy route and going turbo...but to each his own every bought the car they and modded thers the way they did for their own reasons

you have seriously got to be joking pass the bud. One of my good friends here has a 2008 TC with full bolt ons and tune and he has trapped a highest of 105. (on the same day and track i run) My 12.0@117 was actually against him. I trapped 107+ on the m62 no meth and street tires. Most stock TC's from what i have seen run right on par with a stock SC time. most on here run slower actually. The only stock turbo TC that has trapped higher than me is matts from ZZP and he had a shitload of mods into that car. So please pull your head out of your ass. My car has trapped 118 on slicks. I could throw street tires on and go trap 120+ like brian (area47) did. And a turbo being easier to manage as far as torque and hp go? than a blower wrong again the blower comes on instantly and turbo is far more forgiving in terms of learning the cars sweet points

I love my S/C... and it was cheaper than the T/C. Oh well, I like and respect both cars, don't know why everything turns into "mines better than yours" around here. Maybe some day when / if I get a T/C then I can trash talk and talk about how lame my S/C was.

Agreed!

It turns that way, because more than half of the members on this site range in age from 18-23.

When I was younger, I was the same way.

(no disrespect to mature acting 18-23 year olds though)

omg the dead horse wont die.... theres a surprise....

for those who dont know.... the tc is better then the sc... but lets think about this for a min.... without the sc the tc owners would have nothin... the sc paved the way to have the tc... its called evolution...

but heres the bottom line.... if the tc owners like that lil sneeze that they discharge and infect the general population with thier lil cold let them.... as for me and i am sure the rest of the sc owners i prefer to hear something scream for bloody mercy.... its more of a turn on then lil a achoooo.....

Your good friend MIGHT need to learn to drive LMAO. I trapped 108 in a stock GMS1 Cobalt at my 6th pass of the night.

What about bone stock cobalts w/e85 tunes trapping 112MPH. Literally a free tune from your bro over 15min lunch break and your pulling the performance (handling breaking acceleration and power) of a SC with THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars poured into it.

I would still love a SC Stage3 Cobalt w/ the 50 shot... man id feel cool with nitrous. That part makes me jelly.

hahaha

damn straight

kids and their pissing contests. They'll never learn. just keep blowing their steam, getting hotter and hotter til a pipe bursts.

I already said where I stand, but I'll elaborate.

I got my ss/sc because it was 8k

for 8k+ ~$500 in mods(car wasn't stock when I bought it. had cooling mods and tranny mount, intake/exhaust already done, just no pulley/injectors/tune) I now have a car that can beat any stock ss/tc and most stock EVOs & STIs. What more do you need? It's fun, fuel efficient, and most importantly, about $5-10k cheaper than an ss/tc!

I don't want to trade my balt for another balt! Why? it's faster? not in stock form. It looks the same. sounds worse IMO (too deep and burbly foy my taste) it costs too damn much. direct injection is cool, but I don't care enough for that to be a factor, and I love the sound of a supercharger!

now.

if the cars were EXACTLY the same price and I didn't already own my balt, I'd probably pick up the TC instead. but if I'm going to spend 12-18k on a car, I'm going back to 1998-2000 and getting myself a c5 vette. N/A, bitches! maybe I'll throw some boost or nitrous at it. or maybe I'll just throw on a giant cam/head/intake/exhaust/tune.

moral of the story? to each his/her own. I don't care how simple you try to make it. people are going to do what they want anyway. "turbos are faster...it's just that simple" It's not that simple. Sometimes people don't care which is faster. Superchargers just sound awesome and you can't put a price on owning that sound for some people. Some people don't have the time or money to get a reeeeally good turbo. Some of the best turbos are on back order for months, making it not worth the hassle or the wait. Blowers are almost a dime a dozen, and they make good power. So when your ss/tc comes across that built/blown civic si and you get dusted, you'll be singin a different tune.

everyone has their say. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd take a turbo lsj over my blower anyday, even though I love how it sounds passing slow asses on the way to work during the day. My wife wants to keep the blower though, so we keep the blower. I don't care enough about it to overrule her on the matter. besides, the car is fast enough for me.

Have fun, kiddos

Matt did it on the stock turbo. Basically bolt ons and an E85 tune with slicks. Total cost of probably $800. Seriously, you can't compete with that.

I also trapped like 106 on just gms1. I never took it on the E47 tune but i could hang with local cars trapping in the mid to high teens so I am sure it was up there.

I run a 19.0 in the 1/4 @ 203mph.

I have a 100mm turbo on my stock lsj.

this argument is stupid.

Turbo sound anyday. My m62 always sounded like it was trying to make up for something it didn't have.
