Should I get a cobalt?

I have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS right now. 200k miles and in the next 6 months to 1 year i want to get a new car. The wife wants a 4 door car because we will have kids sometime. I said we can worry about that when the time comes. I hate 4 door cars. Iv been looking at the Cobalt SS for a few days. I should just go sit in one at the dealer but Im wondering how the reliability is? Iv had to do very little in the 200k miles iv had my car. replaced a few wheel barrings, tires, breaks and oil. nothing TO bad. I just replaced the main belt last week. But its going to die soon im sure. Am i going to ge tthe same out of the cobalt? And the next question. How is the room on the inside? Im a big guy so i need some room inside. I could care less about the back seat.

not really, just the doors are shorter. To help get more headroom, make sure to get one without a sunroof. The ones with a sunroof have a lower roof. The roof of the sedans is higher than the coupes too.

I'm 6'0 and weigh about 200lbs and I have more than enough room. I can raise the seat all the way up and forward and it's like driving a cavalier with the seat all the way back...

for a family car the cobalt sedan is good for young kids and the trunk space is decent. Trunk space is not good if you try and put a stoller in there.

i dnt like my friends in the back so i treat her like a 2dr.

No. Save your money and get something that'll be a better buy than a Cobalt.

It is not hard to find a used one smart-guy.

Even though the original poster says he hates 4-doors. It may kill 2 birds with one stone.

I have two young boy's and haven't had an issue getting them into their car seats with my coupe. I'd much rather take the extra 30 seconds to get them in than drive a sedan .

Don't get a sedan, they're ugly... just get a coupe.

Better yet... do not get a Cobalt.

My Dad had the same deal with his Monte. It was a tank. If you have the L36 (non-s/c) I wouldn't bank on it dying any time soon if you keep up with it. The L67 (s/c), perhaps. But in all honesty, if you plan on having kids soon, I wouldn't get one. Good for two people and stuff, not good for any more than that..

I'm 6'5", 225 and have plenty of room (of course, back seat passengers would not want to sit behind me)

That's right, the s/c motor was available in 04 for those.. So you've got the L36. ******* bulletproof.

The best way to decide is go sit in one, take it for a test drive, read the reviews on it, then read all the threads of all the problems people have had with them. Myself once the warrenty is up it's gone, and I'll never ever buy another again. But it's your money
