side molding removal tips PLEASE

side molding removal tips PLEASE

just removed my side moldings and i have alot of adhesive glue stuck on my paint...any tips on removing without damaging my paint??????

goo gone, plastic ice scraper lol, gotta be super careful with it though or else youll put chips in

heat it up. till it bubbles. than use bug and tar remover.

i was too much of a ***** to heat it up too much didnt wanna burn the paint or damage it...heated it and tried thumbing it off...needless to say im gonna wake up missing a few fingerprints tomorrow

have fun. Rub your finger on it for 2 hours then wax like I did. Also burn all the skin off your fingers that way.

@ TommyP i had at it for 45 minutes i couldnt take it anymore my hands are killing me as i type lmao between burning them wit the heat gun, burning them on the hot door, the hot adhesive and the missing fingerprints im in pain like a mother$%^&*(

can get goo gone in different solutions, they have a gel in a spray bottle i used on my old car

hahaha that's how I did my sedan. It hurt. But I toughed it out and it was worth it!

I've never found goo gone to work that well on really thick foam tape like that. Actually if you can get access to a pressure washer that would work great, that's what we use at work and it would take me less than 5 minutes to get all it off on both sides. of course test it out first on an unnoticeable part of the car to make sure it's not so strong to take the paint off

nah jus a bull-ish pressure washer we use for our work trucks. i'll try the goo gone tomorrow...maybe even try and buff it out with WD40

When i did the goo gone i sprayed it onto a paper towel and dabbed it on, let it sit for about 10 mins, wiped off and repeated 3 or 4 times and it was good

I just took my side moldings off as well. Got all the adhesive off in literally a couple minutes.
