The Six Month Report.

Car: Cobalt LS with 1SB Package.
Color: Arrival Blue Metallic.
Dealership of Origin: Grey Chevy Cadillac Of the Poconos

At the Two month report I was telling you all about how much I love this car. Well my opinion hasn't changed. I have had some minor setbacks with my car, but nothing to dramatic. The car was in to an Autobody shop for some work after a trip off road when we got some really bad rains in the area. The car has broken in nicely and should be due for it's first oilchange soon. (It's at 19 percent oil life) I've put 6020 miles on the car since buying it in January. (Typical car wear for an area where there is no public transportation) My fuel mpg has been anywhere between 27 and 32 mpg which is really good, and Means I only tank up maybe once a week.

The handling on this car has been superb, I couldn't ask for a better ride than the Cobalt gives me. It's acceleration has been smooth the car never hesitiates and it goes when I make demands on it. This car was built to pass on the open highway, I mean it just zooms. I've been up to about 100 mph with the car and the car keeps it's smooth precision all the way up to that speed (I'm sure it could be pushed harder but tickets in PA can be expensive) I took the car in for recal 05046 and got the wiring for the voltage spike installed before I needed to run my ac. I've also found that I don't have to run my ac for long and that once the car is cool I can hit recirculate and turn the AC off and just reciruclate the cooled air for a good long while.

All in all still very happy with the Cobalt, it's a good car for the money give it a try

Till I have something else to write on... Happy motoring

Well couldn't get the car in quick enough for the recall, but took it last Monday because the a/c and defroster quit working. It took them 4 days to find the part. Also had them fix a loose window.

Does anyone else have a problem with steering making popping noises at all speeds. The dealer said they called corporate and can't get a solution for it. So they said take it home after they greased up the bearings and let us know how it is. Well,,,,,,, it got worse and to bring it back Monday morning...

Other than the little problems I still love the car.

Sounds liek the Cobalt has a first great year! not many problems at all and we need to remeber the willbe magnified here so remeber we arent the only people with or getting cobalts in the country im sure. EVery new car has problems and I liek to see the cobalt had a few simple ones and thats it.

There were some big problems on the car before you signed up chevy. I think they are all fixed now. Some people couldn't shift past 2nd in the automatic and the car would die, the AC stopped working, stereos shorted out or made weird noises, and somebody's car's breaks wouldn't work at all... They all got fixed, and I think the most of the problems are gone.

That's because the A/C compressor is still on. It says so in the manual.
Next time you start the car, hit the recirc. button but not the A/C button.
It gets just as cold.

I read somewhere that it's not a good idea to have the vent system in recirc mode for too long. Is this true?

if you are a smoker,DO NOT USE RECIRC BUTTON!. It will recirculate the smoke, and in a few short years, you will have this stale musty odor coming from your vents. My wife made this mistake on a car of hers, she smoked with the windows up, and the recirc air button on. Damn, that was the foulest smelling air coming out of there after a few years!!

Only because it drys out the air. When the compressor is on, it takes water out of the air. So.. you keep recirculating the same air in the car taking more and more water out.

It's good to get some freash air in there once and awhile! hehe I don't think there are any real problems that can come from it. Am I wrong?
