Soooo Happy!

I got in a small accident the other day when non driver with a trailor hit my car on the side and scraped all over the front bumper! Anyways he didnt want to deal with insurance so he took me to a body shop where he paid for the work right there. I was a bit nervous with the quality of the work i was going to recieve but it came out GREAT! My front bumper looks brand new.

The guy also paid for me to get my brake calipers painted and my chevy emblem =)

cool, as long as you're 100% sure there wasnt any significant un-noticed damage, thats a pretty good deal because there's a good chance your insurance would have increased slightly as well. are you sure it was just the bumper and theres no possible "hidden" damage? the slightest tweak of the frame can ruin a car. hope it all works out in the long haul.

there was no actually dent on my bumper. The side of his trailor rubbed against the front left of my bumper when he was making a right turn ( he cut me off).

it was just a big ass smudge.

That's not necessairly true, lots of people pay for body work out of their own pockets rather then have their insurance premiums go up

same idea happend to me. I got hit by a coil of pipe that flew off an oncomming truck and scrapped the side of my car all up. He didn't wanna go through insurrance either so he cut me a check for the body work I had done at my dealership the next week... in his case he would have been charged because it was a work truck, so HE was the lucky one.

I would think you'd be lucky if your car never had ANY bodywork or paint done to it.
Maybe thats just me

My frame got pushed in on mine. replaced the centerpiece frame and bam, brand new. No big deal with these new cars. Except for money ofcourse. But I would definatley check into that and make sure cuz when a lady hit me it wasent hard at all and it still pushed it in.

I would definetly think he just didn't want to go through insurance. This past summer I had an accident. I was at fault. I paid out of my pocket $1300 to fix his car and another $1000 to fix mine. Being 20 and having an at fault accident claim on my insurance is not what I need. In the long run $2300 will be cheaper for me than it would be if I went through insurance.
