I'm looking to run an amp and sub in my car off the stock H/U for now.
Any suggestions on a good sub/amp combo
Dont want to spend too much money, just looking for a good upgrade over the factory sub.

I'm a big Rockford Fosgate fan. So, I'll have to say RF. I have the stock 6 disc head unit with stock mids and highs. But I added a RF T5002 amp going to a RF 12" T1 in a 3.25 cuft box. It takes up about half of your trunk but it sounds really good for just 1 sub.
ok, for all of you running amps/subs on the stock head unit, i have a question. i have a infinity amp, and 2 10" subs from my old car, and i wanna use the stock head unit. i know theres something i need to buy to make that work. i've tried searching, but i know nothing about car audio, so it just confuses me.
any point in the right direction as to what exactly i need to buy? (dont mean to thread jack, so a PM would be great)
to the OP, i love my infinity's, they rocked the **** outta my 89 caprice classic. i would buy infinity again in a second.

the guy that did my system spliced an rca jack adapter into my 6x9's in the rear deck. not the most desirable setup...but it bumped like a mother, and sounded a lot better than i expected. i just didn't have the money to dick around with an aftermarket head unit...so i went this route.
if your amp has high level out puts then you just splice into your rear speakers neg and pos both sides, tie them into your high level out puts, then all you have to do is run your remote wire from the wiper fuse in your fuse box on the left passenger side under console... vola done

if you have a factory setup and want to put a sub into your car you need whats called a 'line out' thats what we use at work. (car audio installer at best buy)
i would go with a P1 or P2 setup, right now is the perfect time to get car audio ****. ik at least all the best buys are getting their new **** in during the next few weeks. so i would recommend going through them since you should be able to get a hell of a deal. go with RF by far the best company and best product to go with
