Question Speed Channel - Opel Astra & Vauxhaul VXR ?????

Hey all,

I was watching the Speed Channel today and British Touring Car Racing came on...anyway one of the cars was a Vauxhaul VXR something...looked awesome, dead ringer for the Opel Astra.

And if anyone doesn't know Opel/Vauxhaul/etc are all under GM, and these cars use the same Delta platform that runs on our Chevy Cobalt SS/Saturn Ion RL/Pontiac Pursuit...blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knew what the model Vauxhaul this was and furthermore if there was anyway we could get our hands on the performance parts they use.

I know the VXR Vauxhaul's are pretty sick versions of the normal Vauxhauls, much like the SRT guys for DCX, AMG for Merc and SS for us so if anyone here knows of the euro parts available, these cars in general or anything else, that would definitely be kewl.

yes GM has many divisions in Europe. Vauxhaul/opel are gm owned, also Holden in australia. there are others as well. No they (astra)don't share the Delta platform though

Hey man...that doesn't really answer my question...well aware GM has many euro and international divisions, most people with any GM knowledge know that the Holden Monaro is the GTO and that everyone under the GM umbrella shares ex: the Saab 92x = Subaru WRX Wagon (GM has share holdings in Fuji Industries which own the Subaru car company)

Anyway, the Cobalt chassis is derived from the Opel Astra (although I may have been wrong in assuming it was a part of the Delta platform) so if anyone knows anything more about this car or the Vauxhaul VXR version...I'd love to know...

following that answer...can we get our hands on the 'go fast' stuff from VXR if it will have any application on the 'balt SS.

Thanks

I've read in many places that the Opel Astra rides on a newer version of the Delta chassis, although I can't remember where I've read it.
