Question For SS owners in Europe..

For those SS owners like me who are outside the US, would you risk doing to a GM dealership/mechanic in Europe?

I'm coming up on an oil change (I could do it myself, but I prefer "pros") and I'm debating wether or not to go to a GM mechanic in Europe to have them do it. Would you risk it? If not, why not? If so, why?

Part 2: I'm also contemplating ordering the Stage 2 kit as well, then of course taking it to a GM dealer/mechanic in Europe to have it installed. Same questions apply.

I'm in Germany, in case you can't read where I'm from under my avatar.

Thanks guys!

Well there are OPEL dealers out here as well but I went to www.chevroleteurope.com and found a chevy mechanic as well, but still, I'm a bit apprehensive.

Anyone?

You bought the car in the US then shipped it to Germany?

I dont see the problem in going to a Chevy dealership over there. GM should be GM no matter where you are in the world.

TorontoSS.. yes, I bought the car in the US, then had military orders to Germany so they shipped it.

Okay, so I finally broke down and called that dealer I've metnioned before. I can get the Stage 2 for 1,006.03 EUR. That equates to 1,245.25 USD! That is freakin' INSANE.

Of course that's going through the dealer and having them order it. Now I'm wondering if I can just go through gmpartsidrect.com and order it myself and just take it to them and have them install it. Hmmmm....

LoozCannon- I'm in the same boat as you, along with an other guy. I have an '06 SS/SC and he has an '05 SS/SC, but we're in the UK. I'm coming up on an oil change as well and I want to do it myself, but I'd rather take it to a dealership. We both are thinking about going Intense stage 3 or GM stage 2. The only thing is, what dealer to go to. Well good luck in Germany

TxL; try www.chevroleteurope.com and look for dealers. That's how I found mine. Hope that helps!
