SS/SC Vs SS 2.4

This is my first post been reading alot about the cobalt on the site. i am looking into gettin a cobalt in the next couple months so i will be gettin an 06 cobalt.... the only thing is i am not sure witch to get...the SS/SC or the SS coupe....i know the SS/SC is rated at 205 and the 2.4 at 170 but witch motor do you guys think are going to have a better aftermarket in a couple years...take in mind i do plan on goin big with this car and wanting over 300hp

Welcome. I belive that you will be able to do more with the 2.4 because it's naturally aspirated. However, the SS/SC is also going to be up there too. If GM comes out with the staged upgrades, stage 2 will boost you to 280hp (word on the street). Gravana Tuning was working on a twin charge system for the SS/SC to produce around 300hp but have canned it because of the cost. Now they are working on a supercharger upgrade that is good for 300 hp. IMO, I think it's weird to have an SS and then a SS/SC in the lineup. If and when GM comes out with the upgrades, I'm going wiht stage 2. It should be under warranty, but if it's not, I will be very angry (i opted for the extended 6 year warranty) and will probably go with the supercharger upgrade from Gravana.
