SS w/ LED headlights

I got the luxeon LED headlight kit for a 9007. The guys on the escape forum were talking about them. Finally my driver bulb went out so I just ordered these to try. I'm waiting until dark to go drive around and aim but they look bright as hell!

Still not dark yet, but if you go to get led headlights, stay away from the fan based ones. These have that silver braid to act as the heat sink. The fan ones will fail then over heat.

They come with a 1 yr warranty, plug n play, as easy as changing a bulb. Hardest part for me was my stupid freaking chevy quality bumper was covering the lower lip of the headlight housing so I had to unsnap most of it...pita....

Yeah mine unfortunately have fan based ones. I plan to eventually go retrofitted in the near future

mmmm ya the old ones. I haven't been up to date on @#$@#$ since I wasn't into my car for a few years, but I didn't realize led bulbs were mainstream now.

I have stock headlights, so curious how the light pattern and cut off will look. They are said to be like stock and not blind the f out of people...... If I like them I'll get fogs and them for the ladies fusion.

my gosh my iphone 5c takes horrible night pics. I have some but they suck. They are the same brightness look of HID's the light spread is pretty good. But I think the light itself has to be installed a certain direction as I have some reflection glaring over to the driver side. My passenger side bulb is angled, I think it should be positions so the led's go left to right. High beams are a similar light just higher up. As long as I am not blinding people with my stock headlights I love them. Otherwise I'll spring for the depo gen 4s with projectors.

This is a good vid comparing HID's, LED's, and halogen bulbs.... So far I'm sticking with HID's, but the fanless LED does sound pretty cool!

but no comparison in light output.
plus, your comparing the price of a bulb to a whole set of retros...piece it together slowly, piece at a time.

gen 4's are 180
Retros are what 400?

gen 4's projectors probably suck, but I'm curious to see what they do with led's in them. I'm not looking to spend that much on the SS...I don't drive it enough to warrant the price.

I have and have had stock hid's on many cars. I fully agree they are amazing. But my ss see's 7k miles a year max, maybe 3k this year. I have some extra headlights, if I can ship those and get them fitted for an okay cost I wouldn't mind it.

I can't find a plain retro for lower than $450. Just way more than I feel justified spending. I'd love retro's as plain as I can get them. No fancy ****, maybe fully painted black.

I live up North, where no other freaking member lives...sucks :/ There is a lsj in Virginia with a modded up car but I never see or talk to him.

I was looking at picking up some used ones from someone local.

They were used and had a little bit of damage on one, and he still wanted 250$!!

Would much rather attempt it myself for the money people want for them.

Not to say the asking price isnt justified, because it is, especially when done right!

Yea it's well worth it to have someone retrofit because it's just no contest even to plug n play led bulbs.

Or you can do it yourself and it'll be a lot cheaper. Still working on getting everything together for my retrofit and it's been super cheap for me so far!

Good retrofit parts aren't cheap. I spent 550 in parts alone for my set, that I still have to finish
