stereo

so this is my first post on this forum and I would just like to know about hooking up an aftermarket stereo deck in my 2005 cobalt ss/sc. I know that I have to run a wire from the fuse panel for power and was just wondering what fuse people are hooking this wire up to for it to work. thanks in advance!

You shouldn't have to run any wire ..get the plug and play harness

Is that with the module for the steering wheel controls because I'm doing it without that and I've talked to a couple people and they said I need to wire it from a fuse that turns in when the key is turned on for the deck to turn on

Oh ya well I wish the people you talked to helped me lol . I have been trying to find out why my was wired like that for days. Someone said there's a fuse blown that why it had a wire for key power. But anyways that being said I have a wire for my key power too. I used the little green wire in the fuse area down bye the passenger foot well on the left side. Put a fuse on it too don't run it straight. It turns on with the key and stays on after the key is turned off until the timer counts down then shuts off. I had to change the way the previous owner had it done they had it going to the fuse box under the hood. It's alot cleaner looking when there isn't wires going into your fuse box. And plus you don't have to run a wire threw the fire wall.

Nope..remove that cover and you will see a bunch of wires and fuses I used the little green wire to the left spliced it with a butt connector and put a fuse on the wire going to the deck.
