Stock Boost gauge?

Hey guys. I did a search and found out our boost guage is electrical. But was also reading that there is no other gauge set-up like ours. So i was wondering, i think im leaning towards getting a 3 pillar (Boost, water temp, oil) i think. But i could go mechanical for all 3 and they would all read correctly right? Because Nexus and Cobalt electricals are 200+$...thats kind of pricey. thanks.

I think Cobalt_Supercharged has a mechanical Autometer gauge hooked up in the stock spot...could be wrong, though.

I'm not sure I would want to install all mechanical gauges in my car. Why would I want to run a hot water and an oil line in? I can understand a mechnical boost though. Probably a hell of a lot more accurate than the crap gauge GM gave us stock.

Stuff like that is isolated to the engine bay on a mechanical gauges .

oil feed(engine bay) > isolator > water/coolant mix up to gauge .

There a pita to hook up using the isolator . Save the cash on the boost guage , but electrics are the way to go for everything else .

So your saying getting the Mechanical oil/water temp/volts will not be as accurate as the electrical obviously. On the mechanical gauges, as long as the tubeing is short from the gauge to the engine, it will read fine i hear. And if i get gauges i dont think i would want to keep the stock boost gauge just so everything matches?

And the stock boost gauge seems to have issues reading correctly from what has been said on the forums. A replacement wouldn't be a bad idea just for the sake of accurate readings.
