I think they usually put down 195-200hp or so.

some SS/SC cars are "factory freaks", those are the ones that bone stock put down 215-230whp. but in general GM underrated the SS/SC, so normally they'll put down between 190-205whp.

These are the stock dyno's I just found on the site..look how many are 190-205whp. Again factory average is 210-215whp.

212whp

people don't post weak dynos..... hence why you didn't quickly find the 190-205whp dyno graphs.

heck, if my car stock dyno'd 220whp i'd be showing everyone the dyno graph, but it didn't.

agreed .... i just wish people would end the argument of what ss/sc's dyno already. there are so many factors that will change what a car can/will put down on a dyno. Factors such as temp., humidity, dyno calibration, etc. etc. Some will be in the lower range 200-210whp, and some will be in the upper range 215-220whp. What we can all agree on is that they are infact underrated from the factory. end thread

Correct !! Every car is different. Go dyno yours, and get some baseline numbers.

How would that be considered "weak" if you say that's average?..

Do a search and I bet you you will find most like this.

you dont think 200whp is weak? you need to get out more. the average Cobalt on this site is weak, heck.... my car is considered an average Cobalt, especially when it comes to modifications. just settle down and let it drop, no sense in getting all worked up on stock dyno numbers.

if they "underrated" them and the rating was 205. that means the actual output is greater than 205. hence the word Under-Rated. it is rated UNDER what it actually puts out. which is why 95% of all lsj WILL dyno above 210whp. i did 231whp/205wtrq when i was stock. soo...i guess they got the torque right...

when car companys claim power numbers they are showing the crank numbers. so then most car buyers are expecting that 15% drivetrain lose, so when they rated the SS/SC at 205/200.... you would expect roughly 180/175 at the wheels but NO instead you are actually putting down more than what they claimed to be crank numbers.

I made 217whp stock and 274whp now and yes both are "weak". But seriously those numbers aren't "weak" for a STOCK SC. I'm not upset just showing you that pretty much all the stock dyno's are going against what your saying. Personally I don't care.

right. you just explained what underrating is. they UNDERrated the lsj to 205. if it was rated correctly. it would be much higher than 205.
