Suggestions needed: missing airbag censor
So when I bought my car, that little airbag censory thing was missing (at least thats what i think it is). so now i have this HOLE
I got some feedback as to what to do with it, but I was hoping to hear some more!

its an 06 and i thought thats where an airbag censor was...or something. i don't even know what went there. but that gap is just bleh. wanted to put something better, or just SOMETHING in there

I'm talking about that whole panel. Its separate from the A/C and Radio panels. Its for heated seat switches on cars that have them, and the center part that is missing on hers normally contains the airbag warning lights. I'm suggesting getting the whole piece new, and selling me the old one.

I'm sure it can't cost more than 5 bucks at a dealer. Go there and see what they got. You can try telling them it wasn't there when you bought it. Only question they might ask is why didn't you bring it up at time of purchase. If you are supposed to have the airbag sensor it might cost a lil more. But I'm sure you can get a blank plate like mine for dirt cheap. Or take off that part around your stereo, cut a piece of black plastic to fit, and super glue it on there.

it looks to be a perfect size for a tape player lol. Maybe retrofit a little cubby hole to put your ipod or cell phone in. Sorry, those are the only things I can come up with besides replacing it.

i know on the '07s without recaros, its the heated seat switches....but i never had mine so i dunno what was there. i saw a picture once and it was an airbag censor so thats what im guessing it was.

also, my car is an 06 and got recalled because it didn't have front side airbags (or the ones that come out of the front pillars, whatever they're called) so i had to get em put in. maybe that's why its just a piece of plastic... yours doesn't have em either?

This could be very true, I'll have to check this out sometime soon. Actually now that I think about it, It's not that it isn't hooked up. Because if it just wasnt hooked up, I'd still see the letters and picture on the plate. Mine is just a black plastic piece.. thats it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... theres no sensor right there. either theres a light for passenger air bag and other nonsense (will still work without said light) or heated seats nonsense or a blank piece. and yes i think it will be expensive from the dealer... stupid shift pattern bullshit was 65 from the dealer. likely im paying that when its under warrenty
