I'm not too sure if this has already been talked about.... sorry if it has.
i was just wondering if anyone knows why you cannot get the side airbags without getting Onstar?

I understand not allowing Onstar without the airbags, but not the other way around

 

I'm pretty sure this is in Canada only, but in the base model you just need to get anti-lock brakes (in order to get the side air bags) because OnStar isn't available in the base model.

 

this must be a Canda issue only.... My SS/sc is coming with side curtains and I do not have onstar. Thank god I hate onstar

 

you can get the side curtain air bags without the Onstar but you can't get the Onstar without the side curtain air bags.

 

It's different for the USA and Canada.
We Canadians don't get AC included in the base model either.
