Tierods

Is there a difference between a normal cobalt(07 lt) tierod and a cobalt SS tierod? I want to know if the SS components are better than stock or if there is an even better option. I need them asap.

Okay, sorry I didn't know shorter meant they wouldn't fit. I thought maybe it would tighten up the steering or something. This is my first time doing this, hence why all the questions.

I know the steering knuckles are also different, so it's doubtful they'd fit. Could do a little research to find out as I'm not aware of the question being asked here before.

Length of the tie rods wouldn't change the steering ratio. That is done via gear ratio in the rack and/or knuckle lever arm length.

Moog tie rod endlinks for the 2.2 will feel better. Also look into getting CABs to stiffen things up. The ZZP ones are cheap. I like them on my LNF. This is probably like the 3rd thread I've said this in.

I already have the alloy control arms and am getting the cabs from Powell racing. I think I will go for the Moog parts!

St Catherine's, Ontario? If so don't get the Canadian Tire "NASCAR Advantage" by Moog. They're just renamed generic parts not the better Moog parts.

Seen tons of people fall for it.

So are the steering knuckle lever arm lengths different on the SS? Is the steering rate quicker? If us base model guys ever wanted to swap to the SS steering knuckle we would have to get the different length tie rods to match?

I'm not sure. If the rack is a different PN than the SS version then it's probably a different ratio as well, so you'd need all three most likely.

I was under the impression that all of the racks had the same ratio?

I know the LNF steering ratio is tighter, but honestly I don't know about the LSJ, etc. I also don't know if it's just the knuckle, or if the rack is different on the LNF.
