Off that topic, is it legal to tint a windshield? I feel weird getting all windows at 15% and the windshield is naked.

 

no. most states you cant have anything. they do make tint thats like 80% for the windshield

its also a good idea to put on a legal strip on the windshield if you are gonna tint it to take some of the attention away from the rest of the windshield

 

Legal strip....is it that thing where it's like a small line on the top of the windshield? I always thought it was kinda odd. I mean, just that little area tinted and nothing else....?

I don't know of any shops here that would put it on for me. Or anything on a windshield for that matter. My friend has his windshield tinted at like 50% because of some fake ass prescription paper. Btw, is the line kinda blue looking on other cars? I don't think mine even has one.

 

its not actually a line all the way across its just a black inscription sorta, in the corner on the side windows. it says AS-1 and has a 1/2 or something line. its on both sides of the windshield and will only be on a factory windshield. If your windshield was replace u wont have that line and most states have a law if theres no line. ex in nm if theres no as-1 then you can go as low as 6in

I know what you're talking about! My windshield was replaced so it doesn't have it. So that means I can't put a tint strip there, then?

 

depends on the state. like i said here in nm if your windshield is replaced the legal limit is 6 inches from the top. so you would legally be able to put a bigger strip on our cars here. isk what the law is in south carolina
