best way is take the front ones crossover and take the rear ones straight up. Manual said every 4k.

I run a tire shop and would not recommend criscrossing the tires at all. just go front to back and thats all. If you criscross you can create a pull caused by the tires.

Does it really matter how you rotate when your tires will be toast after 15-20K miles anyway? :P

if you need an alignment after a few thousand miles on a new car, you might want to reconsider your driving methods

if you take your car to the dealer for a trire rotation make sure you check your rims b4 leaving. they chipped and scratched 2 of my rims, if i wouldnt have noticed it i'm sure they would not have covered it

Hey, it only takes ONE pothole to kill your alignment. That can happen to anyone at anytime. It has nothing to do with your driving habits.

Had mine done at 5400 miles. Don't know which pattern they used, but it is driving just fine.

Haven't done mine yet (only 760 miles), but I've always rotated every 6K (every other oil change) with my other vehicles and had no problems. The SS may have different recommended intervals though; not sure on that one.

Actually when rotating your tires, if you refer to the owner's manual it says bring the front tires straight back. While for the rear tires the passanger rear becomes driver front and driver rear becomes passanger front. Why is it that no one even looks at the manual they were given? It's there to be used, just my $.02

Saw this thread this morning and have done some poking around but cannot find the GM site where I had read that on high performance cars (Cadillac V series, Vette, Cobalt SS) GM recommends rotating the tires every 3000 miles for optimum performance.

I'm not making this up. Had a bit of information overload this week when I discovered as a GM employee I have access to all GM service bulletins and service manuals online!!

GM Recommends in the manual (including SS/SC) every 6-8. I woult think it depends more on the particular tires that are on the car and the driving habits of the owner than on what kind of car it is. My Pzeros looked like new at 3k miles, but now that they are at 6700 they need rotated.

The recommendation is as an addendum to the information in the owners manual and is meant for drivers who see some track time where the front tires will be worked harder than they are in every day driving.

Sorry, should have made this clear in the first post.
