Tire size!

Hey everyone. I recently rotated my tires putting the ones from the rear in the front. These tires which I thought would of been fine in the front (225/45R18's) rub when turning sharp. She's still on stock suspension. I like the idea of having more tread on the road up front so what's a good size that wont rub? I'm thinking 225/40R18's and putting these back in the rear. Any suggestions? I will be eventually dropping it onto Sportlines. Thanks

I'm not sure why you're rubbing.... I have 235/40/18s all around with a 1.5"-2" drop with no rubbing.

I have 245/45-17 drag radials and have only had 1 minor rub when I hit a big dip back when I was on sport lines. I'm like football playa now and run 235/40-18's full time and have never rubbed on them. I run yyz springs now which aren't quite as low as the sport lines, but you shouldn't rub on what you have if on stock springs.
Fyi- sport lines look nice, don't ride very well, and caused my front rear control arm bushings to wear super fast. Good luck with that.
You shouldn't be rubbing, and the stock size is 225-40 which would help as they are shorter than 225-45.

You shouldnt be rubbing with that size tire on the stock suspension....

I would take a look at your struts, shocks, and other suspension components.

did your splash guard loose any of the fasteners ? It could be hanging a little loose causing the tire to rub.

Does it rub going in both directions ?

I have 225 / 45R 18s also,
But I have different rims, they are 1" wider, and have a couple mm offset difference then factor. Anyways, mine also rub. The right tire rubs the fender well when turning right and braking at the same time. It's just the plastic, so I just need to find a way to put it out of the way. A friend of mine here told me it would just wear out the plastic till it doesn't rub anymore.
