Trade in Values.

Hey all...

I know it's not a super smart thing to trade your car in when it's still new... but I'm just curious.

On that note... those of you who traded in your cars for a new model... what type of Cobalt was it (SS/SC, SS/2.4, LS, LT) and how many miles did you have?

If you really wanna know... a local dealer in my area has a '05 SRT-4 that has been sitting in their showroom for a few months now... I'm just wondering if they'd be willing to trade... esp. with the arrival of the new Calibur.

You will be at a great loss on trade-in for 3 yrs (on a five yr loan) or 4 yrs (on a six yr loan). After that, you'll at least break even.

So I contacted the dealer... just for the heck of it.

They replied to my interest e-mail with a sticker price of $18,885... a damn steal in my mind, considering I paid $22,000 for my 2.4...

Typically I wouldn't even consider trading my SS... I do love the car... but this SRT-4 is the last new one that any dealer in the state has... and is likely the last new one I'll ever see b/c they are out of production.

We'll just have to see what kind of offer they shoot up for my SS now.

I'd take the SRT-4 if it's brand new and for $18k

I took my car to three different dealerships and car-max last month and the most I was ever offered was 15k. I think I'll keep it thanks..
