Do any of you have expierance with installing a trailer hitch on a Cobalt?

I need to tow a very small rail-style Motorcycle trailer with 2 bikes about 1200 mi round trip. Can anyone think of problems here? Or would a "U-Haul" generic trailer kit suffice?

I think you may have cut your bumper in order to attach a hitch

 

No cutting needed. I have a hitch on mine, well on my LS. If you have the SS then it won't work. There are a few available I think the Hidden Hitch and the Drawtite are both available for the Cobalt. I wanted the Drawtite hitch that is frame mounted thought that was what I was getting but they order another hitch that mounts 2x to the bumper and 2x to the spare tire well. I installed mine myself. I would recommend the Drawtite hitch myself, but I'd recommend someone else install it. I downloaded the directions and it looks like a real pain in the kisser. Hope this helps.

Do you happen to have any pics of your hitch installed? I dont mean from the bottom, but the part that actually shows when you are driving. I will be hauling my jet ski and looking to use the Cobalt instead of the GTP.

 

I installed a Hidden Hitch on my 2002 Cavalier LS Sport and it was simple. Took about 1-2hours
