Question Trifecta Tune???

I just put a ZZP Long-tube header on my 2007 Chevy Cobalt 2.2L. But it is throwing a code on my upstream O2 sensor (could be bad sensor, loose sensor, or not reading correctly). I know that I can not pass inspection the way it is now. Unless I take it to a place to get inspected, have them clear the code, and drive it around for 50+ miles, bring it back, and then get inspected as long as the engine light does not come on. I have been told that the ECU keeps all records of when the cars codes are cleared, so I can not just clear the code myself and then take it to get inspected. I live in Fort Worth, Texas. So my question is, can you tune out the code without it being pick up be inspection?

Im not sure but in wisconsin as long as you have no codes at the time of inspection you are good. If a past one comes up you say you fixed it already and your good to go. Wisconsin is fairly lenient though.

Which code is it?

It is illegal to modify the engine controller’s programming just to pass emission inspection, but if the car is being operated off-road only and you’re asking us to do this to avoid the hassle of having the check engine light on, then we can help you.
