V8 Cobalt
Anything made from like 1992 and up I have a pretty good idea on.
Or know where to look or who to ask.
And shame on you being an Ecotec owner and now knowing all about the Northstar.

on my other car forum the admin did a full RWD conversion on a 2002 Grand Am GT he used a supercharged northstar v8... took him almost a year to fab it all up.. had to make a tranny hump and knock back the firewall a few inches....

Expensive I can get around that lol ill go to mexico there's this place were they put stolen engines in so price wise not worry too much but would be cool to see a cobalt v8 someone rolls up next to you in a camaro and you smoke him and do a victory burn out with the back tires lol
http://www.bbracecars.com/2008_racing_news_archive.html tons on there. granted they are full tube chassis race cars that wouldnt be suitable for street use.
There is nothing GM small enough to run to a center dif, then a rear dif, and now we are talking custom custom parts.
You could buy a ZR-1 probably by the time you are finished.
It would probably be cheaper to put an engine in the rear and making it a twin engine car.
Oh i would never try it, But i think that would be sombodys only hope for an awd v8
If i was going to do a project like this i would use the DSM driveline
