View mileage with NRG Quick release?

I just bought an 07 ss s/c and it has an NRG quick release steering wheel. So on the mileage screen it is always showing check air bags or a message similar to that. Is there anyway for me to navigate that screen to see my miles on a trip and such without the stock steering wheel?

Theme of the day: GM design changes.

On my '05, the buttons that control the Driver Information Center (DIC) are located on the dash, between the key and stereo.

For the 2007+ cars, they moved those buttons to the steering wheel. In other words, you're SOL.

many ideas if it would be possible to run that wire to a button on the dash somewhere, it’s not a huge deal I just like to add up my mileage every fill up and it’s easier to keep a trip rather than subtract from the cars mileage

I'm sure you could, it would just require tapping into the harness. If you could find an 05/06 car, you could likely pull the silver trim piece and buttons out of one of them and do a sort-of retro install.

I actually started using an app that does all that MPG calculating for me - 'FUELLY'. I chose to use overall mileage for it, but you also put in price, gallons, type, brands, etc. It has options and will track your fuel ups, gives all sorts of data, etc.
