water in door

water in door

i have read that on the doors on the cobalts collect water in the bottom of the door i pulled off my door panel and it had water in it is there a way to stop this from happening again

ughhh i hope this isnt a common occurrence as i have sum very expensive JL audio speakers sitting on my desk waiting for me to get money to get them installed...

about 2 months ago I took my door panel off to put tc door panels in and there was water in the inside of my door also. YA the doors collect a lot of moistue and water in the door

there should be small drains in the bottom of the door. little wholes. its normal for the doors to get water in them. thats what that large clear plastic piece is for thats stuck on behind the door panel. those drains might be plugged with debris. see if they are.

^^^You hit the "nail-on-the-head"! Clean out your drain holes -- that's the only reason water will collect in the door. Should make it a habit to look at the drains after cleaning/washing your car.

All car doors are "wet" meaning they're designed to have some water get inside of them. No matter what you do, if you have a sliding window (as almost all cars do these days), water will leak through past the seal, and it will pour into the door at the ends of the seal. It's important that there is proper drainage of the water inside the door and that the inner door is well-coated with e-coat primer to prevent rust from this water. Everything I've seen about our doors suggest that the primer and paint has pretty good coverage.
