I've had a couple weird things happening with my Cobalt lately. I pretty much keep my radio on XM the entire time...was listening to Opie & Anthony one morning while doing some delivery rounds for work and when I came back to my car and cranked it, it was now on the AM band. It's done that a few times now, and can't seem to make it do that every time. Anybody else get this?

And just last night my emergency brake light came on for a split second, then came on again 30 seconds later and then it never lit up again. I'm guessing those are engine codes...think I need to get those checked out?

 

the first week or two that I had my car the e brake light would flash for like a split second while drining. It happened maybe ten times and hasn't happened since. I never had it checked out but wondered about it also.

 

YA, MY XM RADIO DOSE THE SAMETHING LAST NIGHT WHEN I LEFT WAL-MART IT CHANGED TO XM2 ON THE BAND CHANNEL, AND MY BRAKE LIGHT LIT-UP ONCE ON ME ALSO, IT FREAKED ME OUT ALSO, GOING TO THE DEALER THURESDAY FOR FIRST OIL CHANGE AND THIS LIST OF PROBLOMS: RADIO THING, BRAKE LIGHT ON DASH FLASH, LITTLE SS EMBLEM IN THE BACK IS LIFTING (NEEDS RE-GLUEING), PLASTIC MOLDING IN-SIDE BY THE BACK WINDOW WAS POORLEY INSTALLED (NEEDS TO BE POPPED-IN), SUN-ROOF SWITCH IS NOT RIGHT(DOSEN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S SITTN CENTER IN THE PLASTIC RING AROUND THE HEADLINER), AND MY BIGGEST THING IS THE SUNROOF LOOKS LIKE IT'S STILL UP IN THE BACK WHEN CLOSED ALL THE WAY!!! ??? (DIDEN'T WANT THE SUNROOF BUT THAT'S THE ONLY COBALT SS IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AT THAT TIME AND I NEEDED A CAR BAD) I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THE DEALER SAID WHEN I TAKE THE CAR IN.

 

I'm having my e-brake checked out today. The other day I was driving it around and it felt like it was still on when it was off, like e-brake totally down and not disenguaging the brakes. I had the flicker of the brake light happen to me too last week, I dunno if its related or not. I should findout what's going on by the end of the day. I drove it to the dealership Sat. and now I'm driving this disgusting 4 door BASE cobalt with no goodies, base everything till I findout whats going on w/ my SS.

 

this morning, went out to the car and got in, always listen to xm usually ch 22 and got in and it was on AM, I was like WTF>? so I tried switching bands and it would not choose XM just AM, fm and fm2
so I was like great software bug.....then I cranked the engine and it went into XM no problem.....then it was fine...weird!

 

Be sure to let us know guys what your dealer says about that light coming on. Hopefully it's not a biggie.

 

man......im getting fed up dealing with those guys........they need prove before getting to work!....like...they demand that they actually see the problem happening before taking my car.........so in this case, i dont even bother to take it in since i can never "prove" the problem exists. how stupid is that

 

Yeah I was afraid they'd say something like that. I haven't found a way to reproduce the XM bug, and I definitely have no idea why the emergency brake light flashed those two times. Looks like we're screwed unless it breaks or if some GM propellerhead finally figures out what's wrong and issues a recall.

 

Well I found out that it's not my e-brake, but it's my regular brakes. They are enguaging and not wanting to disenguage when they get warm. And the dealership still can't figure out why it's happening!

 

same with me i dont knwo if i should bring it in its only happend once with me the 3ed dya ig ot it and not since then so im not too sure what i should do about it

 

I work as a tech for a dealership and the reason they need to see it happen is so they can fix it. Just telling them it did that does not help they need to see it happen to fix the problem. Otherwise they are just guessing at the problem.
