welp, having problems with my ignition switch again...
lol went to get out of the car the other day, and the key wouldnt retract from the acc position, key was too far into the lock cylinder. Had to wiggle the key to find the right position to get it to retract to where I could remove it. It would seem these "new" ignition switches are no different then any other previous GM ignition switch with that regard.
I haven't had the recall done yet. This is why I'm waiting. Gm doesn't have the best customer service right now. Kind of hard to I guess with millions of people wanting things fixed at once. I've read that other people have been having problems after the recall "fix". Lots say that when they go to the dealership again they tell them it is unrelated to the work they did
And this is why I told the service writer no. She acted like I had just said I was going to drive off a cliff.
You can't do that! It's for safety! It's actually the law that it has to get done! But, but, but, it's free!

I feel like GM is introducing female service writers left and right because most of the time men bring in the cars; like they think dudes will get less angry at the chicks and that they can be more convincing.
Well, Ill grant the fact that it is safer, my key used to easily fall out with the slightest tug before, now its at least tight in the switch when driving. But getting it out after you turn the car if is no different then before.
I drive a 2010 SS and never had an issue with my ignition, it was literally perfect. But i got it replaced for resale sake incase I decide to sell it in the future. Well now I'm having issues. I hit a bump the other day and it turned off, I almost ran into a line of cars at a red light. I can't help but blame the recall as I haven't done anything else to my car for a while and don't drive it very much.
