What a difference a dealer makes!

After 6 months I finally gave up waiting on a car that I do not think I ever would have seen from this dealership. With so many dealers having SS/SC's sitting on the lot my reason for placing an order became a moot point. When I explained this to my ex-salesman he said we could have your car in a month. I said ok, "What's the build date?" He said, "We don't have one yet." At that point it was all over. I said, "Cancel my order and just refund my deposit. Without a build date you are talking 6-8 weeks." So now I hope I don't end up in small claims court to get back my deposit. Late that afternoon I became the proud owner of a car that should not have been such a hassle to acquire in the first place! Lessons learned - I will never order another car. The GM discount allowed me to get an SS/SC, Sunroof, XM , and the all important Lighter and Ashtray for under 21500. I didn't get my first color choice (Black) or the side air bags and don't miss them either. I was going to get the Blue one that I test drove but it already had over 150 miles so that killed that. I ended up with a color I never thought I would like but it's OK! You'll have to look in the gallery to see it. It only had 11 miles! Hope you don't see me on, "The People's Court!"

beautiful, my first choice in colors!!!! congrats!

what I dont get really, is the lack of orders that get filled, but some dealers have a ton or at least a couple on the lot, my order went in late feb and it still wasnt filled and this was from a relatively big dealer, just got my deposit back yesterday, def stinks!

I don't understand the whole deposit thing. It's not like if you back out they won't be able to sell the car.

Even if it says non refundable, you have a signed contract for a 2005 Cobalt SS which they DID NOT DELIVER, so therefor they are in default, they cannot say oh we will just get a 06 caus then they would need a whole new contract to be filled out and signed

just an FYI

Good point about the contract. The final papers arent signed until the person takes delivery anyway.

That's a really nice color too!

When I ordered mine my salesman told that it was a refundable deposit. He said that if anyone tells you it is non-refundable they are lying.
