What to do. Please help.
Its been a month without my car. its in for warranty work and parts are on national back order. i have the option of goin and getting my car and having it til the parts come in. or drive my free rental.
they have no idea when parts will be in, so the thing is i look at it as like i can either drive this rental for anywhere from 1 day to somewhere around 6 month! or drive a kinda broken car for that long.
what would you do?

only in high rpms the clutch peddle sinks to the floor like there is air in the sytem. they want to put synchronzor gears and in it. and i bought the upgraded clutch and TOB to be put in while they have it apart... so its ok to drive, i dont think the synchro gears are an issue to be honest. but im not the trans guy at the dealership. lol.

If you get the free rental, and it brakes down
you DEF will not have to pay for it. But if your
car brakes down further, its just more headace.

you can try bleeding your clutch hydraulic system too if you want. or have the dealer do it. it would be around $150 i think.
as for what im doin, im having them put in my upgraded clutch and TOB for pretty cheap while they are in there workin. (thank god for being friends with my service writer)
ill keep you updated on it.

OP for how much I hate to say it, I'd just rock the rental 'til your car is done. But I would go to the dealership and whine and complain until they gave you a nicer rental if it really has already been a month. I'm sure you're probably in an Aveo or something. My car got hit and I had a Suzuki Forenza for 3 weeks and it was the worst 3 weeks of my driving life

i think im gonna go get it and fix it myself honestly. I work at a ford dealership... the tranny guy said he will help me put the clutch in and bleed my hydraulic system next saturday. ive never done tranny work and he has about 98237598 years of experience. i think we will get her done. and it will be all over. but if not, the parts are still on order from gm. ill let them take care of it.

I'd drive the rental, but tell the service advisor that you'd like an upgrade on your rental. Tell him you're driving a 20K+ vehicle, and not the base Cobalt. They try to match what you're driving with what you're allowed, and they probably saw "Cobalt" and put you in something similar to a base Cobalt. Ask for at least a mid-grade. I know when I had my car in the shop, they'd put me up in Hummer H3s, Trailblazers, fullsize p/u, and other mid-sized cars. Sometimes you have to bitch to get things done. The extra $$$ on the rental might help them expedite your part for you.
