I still don't know how to post pictures in the thread without it being an "attached thumbnail"

But heres the results of my little project.

Im pretty satisfied, better than before.

You can see how gm did the "upgraded bumper" mod by taking a reciprocating saw to the bumper and cutting it off..

My last post was with "attached thumbnails"

Now that I know how to post from photobucket I though I would post one high res photo.

Installed new OEM front pads. I was not happy with the Powerstop z26 pads up front.

What a difference the stock pads made. Much firmer pedal and quicker stops.

FINALLY got my hands on a factory white highrise!!!!! I thought it would never happen good God what a mission it was to find one that wasn't across the country or on the moon or something ... I'm in love with the look of the car all over again

...and yes I hate wingless, I dont get it but thats personal taste, I just find the highrise makes the car look much more aggressive and finishes off the look.

New brakes are always nice

I have the hawk hps pads currently. They are softer and make the wheels a bit dirtier, but they don't wear the rotors hardly at all.

Those are the pads I have for my Nova. I've had EBC redstuff on the G5 for 50k now and they still have probably another 25k left in them.

Nice what year nova? My dad had a 72 rally nova that he modded out when he was young. Side pipes 650 lift cam, long duration, dual quads? Looks very nice in pictures. He should have never sold it. I have always wanted to drive a nice old 4 speed.

I have a 85 C-10 that was my grandpas that I take care of. The carb is having some issues this year so its time for a tune up. It looks like the previous owner put a small high rise manifold on as well as a mild camshaft. Love older cars, so simple

Sounds nice, I tend to like both wingless and highrise depending on how the car is done. I don't really care for my factory small spoiler though.

I much prefer these

Mine's a 69. 4dr, but I still love it. It's in a sad state right now but it's being built. It's getting 14"/13.4" Corvette disc brakes, tubular control arms, coilovers up front, adding a rear sway bar and beefing up to a 1.5" solid front sway bar. I built some custom LED tails for it. I just picked up some extremely rare forged pistons for the 307 in it for $250 so maybe i can throw a blower on it with some ethanol.

Those led tails will give it a nice modern look when you get it going. Do you plan on doing all the body work yourself?

Whats the car next to it btw?

I need to get some pictures of my c-10 sometime before winter.

You should definitely get some pics. My dad has a 1978 K10 truck he half-assed restored. I am tempted to do the bodywork myself. I want fiberglass bumpers, trunk, hood, fenders, and as much weight reduction possible. Should be a nice cruiser ith plenty back room space for a car seat if the time ever comes. The other car is my first car. Same year and model, engine, interior color. I got hit by a drunk on Easter of 2007 when I was 17.

That's some **** man. You try so hard to have something nice and some idiot who cant handle responsibility near kills himself and another person..

I personally knew someone who was a part of our distant family. He had some issues, but everyone thought he was doing ok.

He had a red cobalt ls. One night he got so damn drunk, he started driving crazy and swerving in and out of traffic at near 100mph on city streets.
He got on a straight in the middle of streets with homes and businesses all over.

He then crashed into a pole and his car disintegrated. They estimated he was going 110mph+. If I remember correctly they got 110mph from the computer in the car. Not really much else to say

What you described for the nova sounds nice, and I can see why you would want to have that same car again. For a four door its a good looking car.

The Powerstops only had 1k miles on them.... so I replaced new pads with new pads, lol.

The Powerstops did not have the initial bite, pedal feel, nor the stopping power I was looking for. The OEM pads are much better for sure.

I didn't notice but I saw the hood was painted black and had some sort of (also black) pinstriping on it.

Also installed my Bluetooth OBDii adapter for the Torque App. It's a pretty sweet app so far.

Installed new updated timing chain tensioner tonight as well as new valve cover gasket and grommet kit. Everything buttoned back up and ready to run er tomorrow.

After working on tons of engines I still look at this chain and think man what a tiny chain lol........

Also located a hydroshield I had no idea I had in the garage that looks like it will go nicely with the ZZP intake I have on the way yay!

Install my winter wheel setup. Came across a brand new pair of bfg g force all season tires on Craigslist for $225, how could I pass up that deal. So I put them on my 17 NA wheels, and man are they a big difference too the nitto nt555(obviously). They handle great whens it's wet unlike the nitto and I don't drive much in the winter and id do I'll be alright with these.

And oddly when I installed the new tires my car stopped pulling to the right

I make this point all the time. There ARE no better street pads than the stock Ferrodos. Period.
I tried the Hawk HPS as well looking for an upgrade several years ago. 2 months later I took them off and threw them in the trash. Same thing goes for rotors. Stock is king. The LNF simply came with an amazing brake package.

Yup, I def agree with you. The SS/TC's oems brakes are tough to beat!!

In my case though, I was speaking about the oem LSJ pads. Which to are good pads, and far superior to some of the aftermarket pads out there.

I **** you not, the difference between the Powerstops to the oem pads was night and day. The oem pads bite harder and stop faster, even though Powerstop claims their pads are superior, haha.
