Installed a lower clearance ZZP intercooler. Compared to stock, this thing is beast and fits nice and tight.

I was just looking at some old pics of the 2 stroke combustion chambers and cases I used to port and polish by hand.

Later I started doing them via CNC also.

Then there's the IHI turbo from the Chevrolet sprint 1 liter I used to install on 80cc and up 2T's.

Those little turbos are so cute, first time I saw one it was a paperweight at a TDI mechanic down in Parker, I though it was a display item at first

That may have been one of mine that I never got back. Gave it to them to see what the possibility was in rebuilding.

That's funny how small of a world it is. I would assume the rebuild cost was higher than the new cost in the long run.

That version was using ceramic bearings and they crapped out quick at 16,000 RPM engine speed with an exhaust stroke every revolution.

Replaced my injector seals with the black ethanol compatible seals and cleaned the intake valves while the manifold (cleaned it too) was off. Cleaning the valves wasn't too bad this time around, once it all came back to me. It's incredible the volume of **** that I pulled out of each port. No doubt, it all presented a bit of an airflow restriction but for being turbo swapped and having 83K miles, what was I supposed to expect?

Pictures do no justice for both before and after but everyone loves show and tell!

The increased throttle response is quite incredible. I literally forgot just how much of a difference it makes. Not only that but less pedal input is required to maintain speeds on the HWY versus before AND my fuel mileage has improved (calculated, not DIC because it's skewed).

Special thanks to exninja for his help with the seals and having the tool to get the job done.

Something was missing If you zoom in, you can clearly see that the rest were getting ready to fail. It was simply a matter of time.

Picked up an LSJ pan today for my 2.4. The doner was severely blown so it had to be taken apart and meticulously cleaned. Now I have more capacity, the proper dip stick tube and the lower mounts for the water pump bracket.

Replaced sway bar bushings yesterday. I guess that chatting with jd on Friday made me think to do it. Hopefully some clunking goes away, but after looking at the old ones I'm not holding my breath. They looked fine to me.

Update: clunking is gone! It was the sway bar bushings!

made my cobalt super quiet, no noticeable power loss. i love it.

when i first got it it had all stock exhaust except some horrible muffler, it was very loud.

long story short i had to do top end, i bought a long tube and catless dp. after that it was extremely obnoxious loud.

put a chambered true 2.5" muffler put on, it quieted it down a little bit but was back to very loud

today took of resonator and added a straight but chambered muffler where the resonator was, now it very quiet and i love it.

no noticeable power loss, very quiet like stock and s/c whine is very loud. love it.
