What will happen?!?!?

What will happen to the 07 ss s/c value now that the ss is going turbo in 08/09.

Will our 07's be worth less ? I definitly plan on trading in for a turbo ss. I wonder if my car will be worth less now.

Any idea's....

to the dealers its likely.
how are they going to sell a second hand ss/sc with less HP when they have the LNF cobalt on their lot?
the answer? low price. which means low trade in value.

The same way they sell second hand SS' and LS/LT's with SC's on the lot. If I were going to a dealer right now I would rather pick up a second hand SC than pay for a new turbo'd.

There will still be a market for them. its just going to become more select and for the people who want the SC over the turbo

In time, I think that these cars (the SS/SC) will be worth a bit purely because they were only made for 3 model years, were fairly limited in their production and because they are more or less an entry level car, they'll be hard to find.

You know what's funny... Look at the old Citation X-11s and the Buick T-Types from the 80's. Their values are coming up as they approach the 30 year mark. The 86-87 Cavalier Z24's and the 88-90 Z24's are also coming up in value just because, at least here in the northeast, there are so few of them left.

How long did it take for the Nova or Chevelle/Malibu to go up in value. Look at the late 70's-early 80's Malibus... they're getting stupid money for those boxes used.

Anyways, just my thinking.

If a lot of people do like you do and trade theirs in, there will be a glut that will drive down prices.

A long time! My first car was a 71 Nova, and when I had it they were nearly worthless. I'd go to car shows or swap meets looking for Novas or parts, and there was nothing. No one liked them at the time.

im gonna disagree with that. the 1st gen z24s are still worth nothing, book value is around $900, and nobody will pay anything for them. i picked up my cars for under $400. most people like the look of them, but arent willing to pay anything to get one. same with the x-11, not too much interest. out here, over the last 3 years or so 2nd gen cavaliers/sunbirds are also going way down in price, the v6 isnt great on gas and with the fuel costs and people wanting to go with more economic cars, the price just plummets

Maybe it's where I live... Here in northern New York and Vermont, the 88-90 Z24's are going for a premium. In fact, last weekend, I looked at an 89 Cavalier Z24 coupe. It was not in bad condition, but it was far from being 100%. It had 127,000 miles on the odometer and was a 5speed 3.1L car. They wanted $3k firm. A 92 Z24 right next to it was going for less. They just didn't have that 'look' that the previous years did. The 86 and 87 Z's, particularly the 87, go for a bunch up here.

Maybe it's a regional thing.

i think some people are being half-way ****** about this...just tell him. to tell you the truth, i haven't seen that many posts about the value of our cars going down because of the new balts coming out. most of the comments about this are within other posts.

either way...there isn't that many.

like some have said i'm sure the value will go down expecially when your talking about dealers.
