I am looking at buying a 2004 ion and rust is a real issue here. looking for ideas on where i should check for rust before i buy.

 

Saturns are made of plastic. Check out the frame lol

 

bahahaha, he is right. I have 2 saturns, so pretty much just check the undercarriage. You will fall in love with Tupperware performance though!!

 

i hear some panels amd metal covered with plastic. i was wondering if there are and known problems with the metal underneith rusting.

 

not that I am aware of, im the original owner of an 03, that spent several years in new York before coming to Louisiana, and rust has not been any form of issue for me. but like we said, check the undercarriage. also check the hood, roof, and trunk to see if any spots look to be repainted, those are metal as far as I know.
