Why is it so fast?
Amazing! Some of the same people that posted in this thread absolutely went berserk on me in my thread. Read 2006 SS Supercharged? Hmmmmm. Unbeleivble! What a ******* double standard. Does your Cobalt actually have the supercharger in it?
you were flamed for being ignorant.
Ok i have an 06 supercharged cobalt. Completely stock nothing done to it at all. Maybe an air freshner lol. I used to take it to the track every now and then. I ran 14.8's consistantly. Even with wheel spin. And my buddy has an 05 with an exhaust and a cold air. I beat him by like 4 cars everytime. I'm keeping up with stage 2 cobalts and stage-2 srt-4's. Can anyone tell me why this is. It cant be just the driver can it.

you FAIL for getting off topic.

Just out of curiousity, since im winning all the same races your are and every one on this site thinks I'm full of ****. Having only seen the one picture you have of your Cobalt, I would lay money down that your Cobalt has two fat racing stripes going the length of the car. Just like mine and very unlike most other Cobalt SS's
you FAIL for getting off topic.
you FAIL for getting off topic.
You ******* FAIL for not checking to see if the new car you bought had a supercharger or not.
Or thinking you had brembos.
Or for generally being a douche.
Have a fun stay on the site as I have a strange suspicion you wont be here for long.

Stop talking ****, endlessly abusing the word "fail" and the acronym "ftw"
I was wrong about the brembos, brembos are not on this car. something better is. come see. bring earplugs

wow you guys with the s/c cars must be pissed about the turbo cars.. 14.8 is slow. our old sohc civic with nothing done to it but a mild tune and launch control added ran 14.2 but it did weight a lot less than a cobalt. weight is just as much of a factor. perhaps this guy was racing a bunch of fat kids.

stage 2 srt-4s are not that fast anyways imo its a waste of money, prob the drivers cant drive it happens I admit im not the best driver and I could use a liitle work and if you are stock and race a stg 2 ss/sc or srt-4 they will beat you trust me

286.7 WHP @ 5200 RPM
328.9 WTQ @ 3600 RPM
Please tell me your 2.0 is not red lined at 5200 rpm?
I could have saved all this hassle if i would have seen stats like this before.
Thats fantastic for a Supercharged engine. Since a lot of people on this site dont machine
their engine blocks or cylinder heads, I wonder how much of a HP loss you would have minus the SC? What this tells me is that once you get to 5k rpms, bye bye torgue. Havent put the car on a dyno, but considering all the bullshit today, why not. It's a safe bet my car is in the 230 hp range. One major difference, my car redlines at 7,000. Thank you for your info, I know exactly whats in my car now. He-he. No ******* wonder.

i did look under the hood. a huge piece of black plastice covered everything. i just naturally assumed that if it says supercharged everywhere, its probably supercharged. hold on, let me "facepalm" myself. I already mention that i do not know anything about superchargers. whats with the disrespect and contempt for me. is this a knowledge base or is it the laff stop? FOR THE LAST TIME, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SUPERCHARGERS. No could "someone" who is mature an knowledgeable.... you know what. **** it.

Showing pictures of cars that are not yours doesn't prove anything, other than you are willing to go out your way to substantiate a lie. Just let it die, and reintegrate yourself with the CSS community after this all blows over.
Well I guess I made the mistake of beleiving that if Chevy sells a car with supercharger badges all over it, it must be supercharged. Maybe I should have asked the dealer to let me turn screwdrivers on a car that I havent even bought. Im sure they would have been ok about letting me pull off that ridiculously oversized stock air box. Pretty easy to tell without removing anything when your inside the car and the boost gauge is absent. It was my mistake to not properly check to see if it was there, but why the hell should I have to if it was supposed to be there in the first place and is advertised as such.
As far as the brakes go, you dont necessarily have to see "Brembo" for it to be Brembo. It might even actually be Brembo designed. What I do know is they have identifiying numbers on them, come in fire engine red that is sort of flat with no gloss. They are boosted independently by an electric motor that is GM factory with part numbers. Lastly, I have only seen one Cobalt with this brake setup on the site. The stopping power they provide is nothing short of amazing. After all that, I swear I can still hear a subtle high pitched sound of a Supercharger. The good folks at GM said it could very well be a prototype Supercharger that utililizes a combination of electric power and the natural aspiration of the car. I know this may sound absolutely ludicrous to some. I asked for the GM rep to substantiate that claim or provide me with access to literature, and he replyed by saying, "we can't give away all the secrets." I researched the history of the SS moniker online and it seems like every SS model since the 60's had a handful of vehicles that were "special order" or built for "dealers only." Even some the paint schemes are used on Cobalts were actually borrowed from classic or antigue SS's. I even saw a "one of a kind." late 60's Camaro that had the exact same paint job and racing stripes as my 06 SS. As far as substantiating a lie. For what? And to prove what to whom? My posts may be criticized by some for being to long. Make no mistake though, they are informative, mostly accurate, intelligently detailed, and prove that I do my homework.
BTW the way though, your Saleen is absolutely incredible! So why didn't you check to see if there was twin turbos? You can't even tell if the car has twin turbos on it?
